Sean Lees is GBI's Strategic Regional Partner for Southeast Asia. He serves as the Business and Human Rights (BHR) Specialist at the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), Bangkok Regional Hub, having held this position since 2017. Before focusing on BHR, Lees engaged in human rights and rule of law initiatives in Afghanistan, Fiji, Iraq, Sudan, and Thailand. Drawing from this wide range of experiences, Lees contributed to policy development at the Executive Office of the UN Secretary-General in New York City. Lees graduated from Boston College Law School in 1999 and previously served as an attorney for the U.S. Department of Justice and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. He is an alumnus of UC Berkeley.
