Sean Lees is GBI's Strategic Regional Partner for Nature. He currently serves as the Nature Pledge Advisor at the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), Asia and the Pacific, where he works alongside others to advise government, business and civil society actors on nature-related risks and opportunities. From 2017 – 2024, Lees was a Business and Human Rights Specialist at UNDP covering environmental rights and other issues in India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Mongolia, Myanmar, Sri Lanka and Thailand. Lees is a member of the California Bar, and served as an attorney for the U.S. Department of Justice and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. Lees graduated from Boston College Law School in 1999 and UC Berkeley in 1994.
