Where to find GBI at the UN Forum 2019
The Global Business Initiative on Human Rights is celebrating its tenth year as the preeminent global, cross-industry business-led organisation focused on advancing corporate respect for human rights around the world. This is where you can find us at the 2019 United Nations Forum on Business and Human Rights.
Monday 25 November
On the opening day of the Forum, GBI will be co-hosting a session exploring whether companies prefer State action when it comes to promoting respect for human rights. The session will explore, through practical examples, why business sees value in pushing for regulatory and policy reform – and the methods they have used to achieve reform.
Palais de Nations – 15:00 – 16:20, Room XIX
As it has for the last six years, GBI will be hosting a unique event in collaboration with the IOE, and supported by the organisations below, convening a business-to-business dialogue on the first evening of the Forum. This year, GBI’s CEO Ron Popper will be giving the keynote.
International Labour Office (ILO) - 18:30 to 21:00, (invitation only)
Tuesday 26 November
On Tuesday afternoon, one of our Directors, Catie Shavin, will contribute to a discussion of the lessons to be learned from legislative initiatives – including mandatory disclosure regimes - aimed at tackling modern slavery. The session will take stock of recent legislative initiatives and explore governments’ experience introducing these regulatory requirements, as well as civil society and business perspectives on the impact of these laws.
Palais de Nations – 15:00 – 16:20, Room XIX
