On 18 April 2016, GBI and the IOE jointly led a capacity building workshop, kindly hosted by the Qatar Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The workshop provided business representatives attending the 2016 Asia Regional Forum on Business and Human Rights with an introduction to recent developments and the expectations of business set out in the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights (UNGPs). It also presented an opportunity for participants to hear the perspectives of key stakeholders, and to learn from the experience of leaders in the business community on how to implement respect for human rights in practice. GBI Director Katryn Wright, moderated a session focused on providing participants with insight into recent developments and stakeholder perspectives. GBI Director Catie Shavin spoke on a panel on emerging trends and reflections on the implementation of the UNGPs by leading companies.
